“You Plonker!” Sussex Police trotter in with “Only Fools and Horses” traffic stop

Sussex Roads Police were met with an unexpected sight when they stopped a three-wheeled “Only Fools and Horses” style van for speeding, and the driver’s aspirations of becoming a millionaire were quickly overshadowed by a traffic violation.

In a light-hearted reference to the iconic British sitcom, Sussex Roads Police tweeted, “THIS TIME NEXT YEAR WE’LL BE MILLIONAIRES,” alluding to the famous line from the show. However, it was not a tale of wheeling and dealing, but rather a case of speeding that caught their attention.

The van, reminiscent of the one driven by Del Boy and Rodney Trotter in the TV series, was spotted traveling at 43 mph in a 30 mph zone. The unexpected twist came when officers discovered that the driver held only a provisional license.
