Arrests Made in Worthing Salon Fire Investigation as Police Probe Arson

Hampshire Residents Arrested Following Worthing Fire Incident

Arrests have been made following a fire at Tantastic, a salon on Broadwater Street in Worthing, which police believe was started deliberately. The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on October 21, prompting an extensive investigation to uncover the cause of the fire and its surrounding circumstances.

Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the incident. A 61-year-old man from Wickham, Hampshire, was detained on October 26 on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He has since been released on conditional bail. Additionally, an 18-year-old man from Portsmouth, Hampshire, was arrested at his residence on October 30 on suspicion of conspiring to commit arson with intent to endanger life. He remains in police custody as of this report.

Local authorities are closely coordinating efforts to support those impacted by the fire as police continue their inquiries. Officers have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant information, including video footage, to contact them online or by calling 101, referencing serial number 1408 of October 21.
