Boy Pushed Over Outside Morrison’s in Brighton

Police in Brighton are investigating a report of an assault on a seven-year-old boy outside Morrison’s supermarket on St James’s Street. The incident occurred at approximately 7.15pm, 5 June 2024 prompting an urgent appeal for witnesses and information.

The young boy was walking with his family when a man walking in the opposite direction pushed him over, causing the child to fall backwards. Fortunately, the boy did not sustain serious injuries, but the incident has left his family distressed and seeking justice.

The suspect is described as a man of large build, possibly in his 20s, with a brown beard. He was wearing a blue woollen hat, a light blue or grey shirt, a dark blue scarf, a blue lanyard, and dark trousers at the time of the incident.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Morrison’s on St James’s Street around the time of the assault. They believe that pedestrians or witnesses may have seen the altercation or the suspect and could provide crucial information to aid the investigation.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant information are urged to contact Sussex Police. Reports can be made online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1448 of 05/06.
