A man has been jailed for assaulting hospital security guards at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.
Robert Donnalley, 31, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Spitalfields Lane, on 27 June at around 1.40pm after becoming extremely intoxicated on drugs and alcohol. When a nurse attempted to assist him, Donnalley threatened her, prompting her to call for security.
Donnalley then proceeded to spit at and assault the two security guards. Officers arrived swiftly and arrested him.
Donnalley, of no fixed address, appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 29 June, where he pleaded guilty to common assault of an emergency worker and two counts of assault by beating an emergency worker. He was sentenced to 10 weeks’ imprisonment.
