Police have launched an investigation after a 42-year-old man reported being assaulted in the Broadfield area of Crawley. The incident occurred on June 25, and the victim presented himself at Crawley Hospital at 8.40 am with an injury consistent with a stabbing.
According to the victim’s account, the assault took place around 7.40 am in Fennel Crescent. He stated that he was approached and attacked by a man riding a motorcycle, who subsequently fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a slender white male in his late teens or early 20s, with blond hair, approximately 5’7″ tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light-colored long-sleeve top and light-colored tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Inspector Jason Hazzard urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV footage or information to come forward and assist with the investigation. While the incident was distressing for the victim, the police believe it to be an isolated occurrence and not a threat to the wider community.
