Crawley police investigate dangerous driving and attempted GBH

Police in Crawley are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following two reports of attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH) between a cyclist and a vehicle on Sunday, March 26.

According to reports, just before 4pm on Sunday, a man in possession of a bladed article was reported to be threatening the occupants of a black Honda Accord in Horsham Road. He then made off on a bike.

Following this altercation, the Honda is seen to mount the pavement at speed and collide with the bike. It is unclear if the man on the bike sustained any injuries, but he was seen to pick up the bladed article off the floor and run away.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He has since been released on police bail until June 26.

Police are now urging anyone with information or video footage that could assist their investigation to come forward. This includes dashcam footage or any other information that could help identify those involved in the incident.

If you have any information that could assist police with their investigation, you are urged to report it online or call 101 quoting serial number 770 of 26/03. Alternatively, you can report it anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
