Dog and cat saved from Burgess Hill flat fire

Burgess Hill Fire Station, Haywards Heath Fire Station, and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (ESFRS) are presently attending to a fire that has broken out at a first-floor flat situated in Edwin Street, Burgess Hill.

As per official reports, all the individuals who were in the flat when the fire started have been accounted for and are safe. Firefighters have successfully rescued a dog and a cat from the affected flat.

The authorities have requested the public to avoid the vicinity of the incident and urged those who reside nearby to keep their windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage is not known at the moment.
