Emergency Services Respond to Collision Near Crawley College

The air ambulance lands in Northgate Field to assist with the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf in Crawley. The incident occurred on College Road at approximately 5:20 pm on Monday, 10 March.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, and the cyclist, a local resident, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen was uninjured.

A section of College Road was temporarily closed to allow emergency responders to assist the injured cyclist and conduct an initial investigation. Traffic was diverted during the closure, causing delays in the area.

Police Appeal for Information

Authorities are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or may have relevant dash cam footage to come forward. Officers are particularly keen to hear from drivers who were in the area at the time and may have recorded crucial evidence.

A Sussex Police spokesperson stated: “We are appealing to anyone who saw this collision or has footage that could help our investigation to contact us as soon as possible.”

Witnesses or those with relevant footage are asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk and quote Operation Bentworth in their correspondence.
