Fire Crews Called to Burgess Hill Gym Blaze

Pure Gym’s lobby fire extinguished using a high-pressure hose reel and jet.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) responded to a fire at Pure Gym on London Road, Burgess Hill, in the early hours of this morning.

The incident, reported at 3.12am, involved a bin fire in the gym’s lobby.

A spokeswoman for WSFRS said: “We were called at 3.12am this morning to a fire at a gym in London Road, Burgess Hill. Joint Fire Control mobilised two fire engines to the scene.”

Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, quickly extinguished the fire using a high-pressure hose reel and a jet. Sussex Police were also on-site to assist.

No evacuations were necessary, and the fire service confirmed that crews left the scene by 6.30am.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
