Major Blaze Rips Through Historic Gribble Inn Pub in Oving

10 Fire Engines and Aerial Ladder Platform Deployed

Emergency services responded to a significant fire at the Gribble Inn in Gribble Lane, Oving, on last night.

A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) confirmed: “At 5.38pm, we were called to a fire at a pub in Gribble Lane, Oving.”

The fire service has deployed ten fire engines and an aerial ladder platform to the scene, with crews working diligently to bring the blaze under control.

Residents have been advised to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed due to smoke. Authorities have also confirmed that the High Street is currently closed to traffic.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage, and investigations are expected to take place once the situation is under control.
