A major police operation in Crawley has led to the dismantling of 11 county lines drug networks, resulting in 25 arrests and the seizure of drugs, cash, and weapons.
The 12-week crackdown, which ended on December 6, was a joint effort by Sussex Police, Surrey Police, and the Metropolitan Police. Officers focused on disrupting Class A drug supply and tackling related violent crime by carrying out warrants and stop checks across Crawley and London.
Raids Lead to Seizure of Drugs, Cash, and Weapons
During the operation, police seized:
- Mobile phones linked to drug distribution networks
- Large quantities of Class A and Class B drugs
- Thousands of pounds in cash
- 14 weapons, including knives and firearms
Inspector Adam McCaig from Crawley Neighbourhood Policing highlighted the urgency of the operation, stating that it aimed to reduce harm, protect vulnerable individuals, and bring offenders to justice.
“Our goal was to target all levels of criminal networks, from street dealers to those managing supply chains. Our intelligence-led approach has resulted in multiple arrests and the recovery of significant evidence,” he said.
