Man charged after tesco Express staff threatened at knifepoint

A 20-year-old man from Ferring has been accused of carrying out a series of armed robberies in Worthing over the weekend.

Alfie Reedman, of Westergate Close, allegedly threatened staff at knifepoint and demanded cash from the till at Tesco Express in Goring Way on Saturday morning. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

The following day, he’s accused of tried to rob two other shops in Salvington: The Welcome Store in Half Moon Lane and Salvington Food Centre in Salvington Road. However, was unsuccessful and left empty-handed.

Reedman was arrested by police on Monday and charged with one count of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at a court to be fixed on Tuesday, 21 November 2023.
