A 21-year-old man has been charged in relation to a sexual assault on a young girl in Littlehampton. Gulahmad Oryakhail, from Pier Road, was arrested on 27 October following an incident that occurred on 25 October in the vicinity of Maltravers Leisure Park.
Oryakhail faces charges of sexual assault and stalking and is currently remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 26 November, where he will answer these charges. The victim, a 14-year-old girl, is receiving ongoing support from officers specially trained to assist those affected by sexual violence.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Cobbett, who is overseeing the case, emphasized the police force’s commitment to safeguarding women and girls: “This charge and remand underscore our dedication to tackling offenders. We maintain a zero-tolerance stance on violence against women and girls.”
