The Metropolitan Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify 20 individuals involved in a counter-protest that took place on Saturday, 11 November, in central London. The day was marred by several violent incidents, particularly around Whitehall. Detectives are now probing a variety of crimes, including inciting racial hatred, racially aggravated offenses, and assaulting police officers.
Commander Kyle Gordon emphasized the ongoing nature of public order policing, highlighting the extensive post-event efforts to identify those responsible for any criminal activities on Remembrance weekend. This includes examining hundreds of hours of CCTV footage.
The public’s assistance is crucial in locating these individuals, who are sought in relation to various offenses. The police are aware that participants may have come from outside London, and are therefore extending their appeal nationwide.
On the same day, police made 145 arrests for various crimes, including possession of weapons, criminal damage, public order offenses, inciting racial hatred, and drug possession.
