Opportunistic Thieves Target Unlocked Cars in Worthing, Goring and Gainsford

Worthing Police have issued a warning to residents after a surge in car crime over the last week. The areas most affected are Worthing, Goring, and Gainsford, where reports of thefts or attempted thefts have increased significantly.

According to the police, most of these crimes are being committed by opportunistic thieves who are simply trying car doors to see if they are unlocked. In most cases, the thieves are not intending to cause damage to the vehicles.

However, many of the reports received by the police state that the cars were left unlocked. The police are reminding car owners to always lock their vehicles when they are not in use, even if it is just for a short period of time.

In response to the recent spate of car crime, Worthing Police have increased patrols in the affected areas. The police are also encouraging anyone who sees suspicious activity to report it immediately.
