Police hunt for woman who spat at and racially abused man in Worthing

Sussex Police are urgently seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman who racially abused and spat at a 19-year-old man

Sussex Police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a woman who racially abused and spat at a 19-year-old man in an appalling incident that occurred on Thursday Worthing, July 6, 2023 evening. The victim was walking along Salvington Way at approximately 9:15 pm when the encounter took place.

According to the victim’s account, the unidentified woman approached him and launched a disgraceful verbal assault, accompanied by a deplorable act of spitting. The victim was subjected to racial abuse, causing significant distress and leaving a deep impact on his well-being.

Described as a white woman in her 30s, standing at 5’2″ with a large build, the suspect has shoulder-length hazel/grey hair. At the time of the incident, she was observed wearing a black coat, pink jumper, and black trousers.

Sussex Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can provide information about the identity of the woman to come forward. Community cooperation is crucial in bringing the offender to justice and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
