Local police are investigating reports of a man caught on CCTV trying to open several parked cars in the Billingshurst area during the early hours of Friday, 9 June. The mysterious incidents took place between 12.30 am and 1 am in Truelove Gardens and Garman Way.
In the surveillance footage obtained, the unidentified man can be seen methodically moving from vehicle to vehicle, testing the doors. At this time no thefts have been reported from the targeted cars.
The police have urged local residents to ensure their vehicles are securely locked, even when parked at home, and to stay vigilant about any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood, such as this.
The public has also been encouraged to help identify the man captured on the CCTV footage. Anyone who may have seen something unusual in the area at the given time or who can provide any information related to the case is asked to contact the police.
