On Sunday afternoon, Shoreham RNLI’s inshore lifeboat, along with the Shoreham Coastguard Team, responded to a report of a sailboat anchored at Shoreham Beach. The Shoreham NCI had been monitoring the vessel and informed HM Coastguard. The coastguard located the boat’s owner to understand why it was anchored. The owner confirmed that due to engine issues, the boat would stay put until Tuesday. Subsequently, both teams were dismissed.
Almost right after, they were called to assist a kite surfer facing difficulties at Beach Green, Lancing. The lifeboat crew helped the kitesurfer reach the shore where the coastguard team awaited.
After ensuring the individual was in good health, both teams disbanded and headed back to their stations.
