Over 900 visitors, including individuals of all ages and backgrounds, flocked to the lifeboat station throughout the day. Families, friends, and local residents were captivated by the activities and displays on offer, as well as the chance to learn more about the crucial work carried out by the RNLI.

In addition to fostering a sense of community, the event also served as a vital fundraising opportunity. Shoreham Lifeboat RNLI is thrilled to announce that a grand total of £4,790 was raised during the open day, which includes the generous contributions from the station shop. The funds raised will go towards supporting the ongoing operations and maintenance of the lifeboat station, ensuring that their life-saving efforts can continue.

The day was not just about raising funds, as the RNLI showcased their lifeboats in action. The lifeboats were launched twice during the event to provide captivating displays for the spectators

The dedication of the RNLI volunteers was further exemplified when the inshore lifeboat was launched on an actual service in the afternoon. Despite the event being in full swing, the crew responded promptly to a distress call, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to saving lives at sea.
