Teenager in Custody Following Knife Attack in Horsham

Teenager Santon Dhar Accused of Knife Attack in Park Place, Horsham

Police are appealing for witnesses following an altercation outside Mungo’s Bar on Park Place, Horsham, in the early hours of Saturday, 21 December.

A 37-year-old man was hospitalised with stab wounds but has since been treated and discharged. Officers promptly attended the scene, detaining a suspect and recovering a bladed article nearby.

Arrests and Charges

Santon Dhar, 18, of Ifield Road, Crawley, has been charged with grievous bodily harm, possession of a bladed article in public, and possession of cannabis. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Lewes Crown Court on Monday, 20 January.

In addition, a 22-year-old man from Southwark, London, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He has been released on conditional bail while further enquiries continue.

Appeal for Information

Police are urging anyone who may have video footage or information about the incident to come forward. Witnesses can report information online or call 101, quoting crime reference 47240248289.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
