A dispersal order has been put in place in Brighton’s New Road and Pavilion Gardens following reports of anti-social behaviour in the area. The order was authorised this afternoon (September 26) and will remain in effect until 2am on Friday, September 27. At that point, authorities will reassess the situation to determine whether the dispersal order needs to be extended.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the incidents. Two of the men were detained on suspicion of breaching their Community Protection Notices, while the third was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
In response to the reports of anti-social behaviour, a heightened police presence has been deployed in New Road and the surrounding areas, aiming to maintain public order and prevent further disturbances.
The dispersal order allows police officers to move individuals from the designated area if they are suspected of engaging in anti-social behaviour. Those who do not comply with the order may face further arrests.
Local authorities have urged residents and visitors to remain vigilant and report any concerns to the police as they continue to monitor the situation.
