Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a stabbing that took place in Dalewood Gardens, Crawley, on Saturday, 22 June.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4pm following reports of a man being stabbed. Paramedics treated the victim on-site before transporting him to the hospital, where he remains with serious injuries.
In swift response to the incident, a 45-year-old woman from Crawley was apprehended nearby on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent. Following an extensive search, police also arrested a 45-year-old man from Crawley on suspicion of attempted murder. Both suspects are currently in custody.
Detective Inspector Jason Parry commented on the situation, expressing gratitude to the community: “I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we responded to this incident, which I’m sure will have been alarming to the local community.”
Reassuring the public, Detective Inspector Parry added, “We believe this was an isolated incident between three people who were known to each other. We are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation.”
The police have stated that inquiries are ongoing and there will likely be an increased police presence in the area throughout the evening. Detective Inspector Parry urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact police online or via 101, quoting Operation Wildwood.
