Two stabbed on train at Lewes Station

Authorities are investigating a violent incident that occurred on a train at Lewes Station on Sunday, 29 May. Two victims have been hospitalized due to knife wounds, according to a statement from the British Transport Police (BTP).

The incident happened just after 8.23 pm. BTP officers alongside paramedics responded rapidly to reports of a fight on board a train at Lewes Station. Two victims were found with knife wounds and were promptly transported to a local hospital.

The injuries, while serious, have been reported as neither life-changing nor life-threatening. Details regarding the victims’ identities or their current condition have not been made available at this time.

As of now, the investigation is ongoing. BTP is seeking the public’s assistance to gather more information about the incident.

“Anyone who witnessed what happened and hasn’t already spoken to police is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 594 of 29/05/23,” BTP said in a statement.
