Witnesses Sought After Hammer Attack in Southwick

Incident involves a man approaching three others with a hammer on The Twitten.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted assault involving a weapon in Southwick on the evening of September 24.

The incident occurred between 6.30pm and 9pm on The Twitten, where it was reported that a man drove towards three men before approaching them with a hammer. The three men then assaulted the man and fled the scene.

A 23-year-old man from Lancing was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in public. He has since been released on bail while further enquiries are conducted.

Officers are keen to speak with the three men involved in the incident and believe they may hold crucial information that can assist the investigation.
