Detectives from Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of a rape incident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, June 20. The victim contacted the Police after allegedly being raped by an unidentified man on the beach in Bognor Regis.
The distressing incident took place at approximately 12:35 a.m. in the area off The Esplanade, situated between the junctions of Lennox Street and Clarence Road.
The victim, who showed immense courage in reporting the crime, is currently receiving support from specialized officers while the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are urging any individuals who may have witnessed the incident or observed suspicious behavior in the vicinity around that time to come forward with information.
The suspect involved is described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s, standing at approximately 5′ 10″ with a slim build and light brown hair. During the incident, he was reportedly wearing a black t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms. Detectives are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might have seen someone matching this description in the area on the night in question.
