Assault on 16-year-old girl leads to teen’s arrest in Horsham

A 14-year-old teenager has been arrested in connection with an assault on a 16-year-old girl at Horsham Park, according to Sussex Police.

The incident occurred around 6.15pm on Monday, 11 September, near the play park. The victim’s phone was also taken and damaged during the assault.

Officers were dispatched to the scene following a report of the assault. After speaking with the victim and conducting an initial investigation, a 14-year-old suspect was identified and subsequently arrested in the town centre on suspicion of robbery.

The suspect has since been released on bail while further enquiries are being conducted.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said, Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, filmed it on their mobile phone or has any information that could help.”

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call 101 or report online, quoting serial 1380 of 09/11.
