Sussex Police are urgently seeking witnesses following a serious traffic collision involving a stolen motorcycle in St Leonards. The incident, which occurred on London Road shortly after 1.30pm on Friday, has left two teenage boys with serious injuries.

A marked police unit first spotted the motorcycle in the St Leonards area, prompting an immediate pursuit. The motorcycle, confirmed to have been stolen, attempted to evade police but collided with multiple vehicles on London Road.

The rider, aged 15, and his 17-year-old passenger, both local residents, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and have been transported to hospital for treatment.

In response to the collision, a section of London Road has been closed off as officers secure the scene. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes while police investigate.

Authorities are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant mobile, dash cam, or CCTV footage to come forward. Those with information are urged to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting Operation Hayman.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been informed of the incident, standard procedure for collisions involving police pursuits.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are seeking public assistance to gather further details.
