Elderly woman robbed of Rolex by suspects posing as deaf petitioners

Sussex Police are appealing for information in connection with the theft of a Rolex watch in Midhurst. On 18 July, at around 1.15pm, an elderly woman was approached by a man and a woman in their 20s carrying clipboards in West Street.

The suspects reportedly claimed to be deaf and asked the victim to sign a petition. They hugged and shook her hand before walking away. Five minutes later the woman realised her watch was missing.
