A man is set to be sentenced following a jury’s verdict of guilt in a case involving historic sexual offenses against two young children in Sussex.
Jason Slaughter, aged 35, residing at Lawn Road in Eastleigh, faced a trial at Lewes Crown Court from September 4th to September 7th. During the trial, Slaughter had denied three counts of touching and assaulting a boy under 13, as well as two counts of touching and assaulting a girl under 13.
On September 7th, the jury delivered a guilty verdict on all five counts of sexual assault.
The court learned that these offenses had occurred in 2006 at a Yapton address.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Julie Leseure said: “This case was reported to us in 2019 and the victims have shown incredible bravery throughout the four-year investigation.
“We hope that this result gives victims of sexual assault the confidence to report to us. We take every report of sexual assault seriously, no matter how long ago the offence was.”
Slaughter will be sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on 12 October.
