Firefighters tackle blaze at thatched cottage

West Sussex Fire service are tackling a blaze at a thatched cottage in Pond Lane, Durrington in West Sussex this evening.

Six pumps are in attendance along with fire officers.

West Sussex Fire service said, “We were called to this incident at 4.01pm and currently in attendance are crews from Worthing, Lancing, East Preston, Shoreham, and East Sussex crews from Brighton.”

At 6:15 pm they said “Please continue to avoid the Pond Lane area of Durrington while we tackle this house fire. Local roads are closed causing congestion.”
