Pedestrian seriously injured after collision with lorry in Shoreham

A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a lorry on The Drive in Shoreham, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Police and ambulance services were quickly on the scene, and a section of the road was temporarily closed while officers worked to respond to the incident.

The man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment, and Sussex Police are now appealing for anyone with relevant footage or information to come forward.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Emergency services responded to a collision in The Drive, Shoreham, at about 12.50pm on Thursday, May 4th. The incident involved a lorry and a pedestrian, and a man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.”

The air ambulance was also called to the scene, but was ultimately stood down before arriving.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
