UPDATE FROM EASTBOURNE RNLI
Our #VolunteerCrew were paged today Saturday 21st May at 09.30 hrs.
They were requested to launch the #InshoreLifeboat and tasked to assist an 11 metre yacht that had encountered difficulties while leaving Sovereign Harbour.
Once on scene, the casualty vessel with two persons on board was found to be aground.
The decision was made by our #VolunteerLifeboatCrew to deploy the casualty vessels anchor to assist with the stability of the vessel once it started to refloat.
One person was transferred ashore by lifeboat to be assessed by our Station Doctor.
The vessel was successfully refloated and returned to the safety of the harbour locks.
The Inshore lifeboat was crewed today by Dave Needham, his brother Pete Needham and Dave’s son Ryan Needham.
This was the first time all 3 Volunteer Crew have been out on a service call together.
