Dozens of disadvantaged children across Brighton & Hove will receive Christmas gifts thanks to the generosity of the city’s Civil Enforcement Officers.
Several hundred toys and books have been collected in recent weeks by officers from NSL, the council’s parking enforcement partner.
The donations have now been handed over to the Brightstore foodbank, which supports families living in the Whitehawk and Hollingdean areas of the city.

NSL’s Lynda Nutley praised the efforts of staff, saying the response from Civil Enforcement Officers had been “absolutely fantastic”. She said the initiative highlighted the company’s “Beyond the Uniform” values, showing that officers are not just doing a job but are an important part of the local community who care deeply about families in the city. She added that the impact on children and families this Christmas would be truly special.

Councillor Trevor Muten, Cabinet member for Transport and City Infrastructure, also welcomed the initiative. He said it demonstrated the generosity and Christmas spirit of Civil Enforcement Officers, who work hard year-round to keep the city safe and moving. He added that the donated toys would make a huge difference to children in need and thanked NSL for spreading joy and festive cheer across Brighton & Hove.
