Police have charged a Hove man in connection with a series of sexual assaults on women exercising along the seafront.
Fattah Derrahi, 59, of Farm Road, Hove, has been charged with nine counts of sexual assault alleged to have taken place between August 2023 and October 2025.
According to Sussex Police, several victims reported being approached and assaulted by a man in the Hove Lawns area, often in the morning while they were exercising or shortly afterwards.
Derrahi appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (15 November) and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday, 10 December.
Detective Inspector Sharon Ford said:
“I know these reports were concerning for the public, and I would like to thank everyone who came forward with information to support the investigation. We will continue to conduct proactive patrols in the area as part of our ongoing commitment to protecting women and girls in Brighton and Hove.”
