Brighton and Hove police are appealing for witnesses following a racially aggravated assault on a bus in Ditchling Road, Brighton.
The incident occurred on Friday, 3 October, at around 4:35pm on the 26 bus, when a man verbally assaulted a woman. An altercation then broke out between the man and another passenger.
Two further men physically removed the suspect from the bus at the Prince’s Crescent bus stop, opposite the Roundhill pub. During the incident, red paint was sprayed onto and inside the bus.
The suspect is described as:
- Height: around 5’7”
- Age: 55–60
- Clothing: beige baseball cap, blue coat, carrying a rucksack
He left the scene before police arrived.
Officers are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV/mobile footage to come forward.
