Police Investigate Series of Burglaries in Brighton and Hove

Brighton and Hove police are appealing for information following a series of burglaries and an attempted burglary in Woodingdean and Hove.

The incidents, reported between 18 October and 1 November, involved stolen jewellery and cash.

Attempted Burglary in Woodingdean

On 18 October at around 7pm, three men reportedly attempted to break into a property in Chalklands Rise, Woodingdean. All three had their faces covered with hoods or hats.

  • Suspect 1: navy hoodie, blue jeans, black trainers with white soles
  • Suspect 2: dark jogging bottoms, blue coat, blue/black trainers with white soles
  • Suspect 3: dark coat, black jeans, black shoes

The attempt was unsuccessful, and the men left the area shortly afterwards.

Linked Burglaries

Later that same evening, a property in Warren Road, Woodingdean was burgled. Jewellery was stolen, and three men matching the same descriptions were seen fleeing the scene.

On 25 October, a property in Crescent Drive North, Woodingdean was burgled, with cash reported stolen.

On 28 October, a man was spotted walking around the perimeter of a property in Meadway Crescent, Hove.

A few days later, on 1 November at approximately 7.50pm, three men approached the same property in Meadway Crescent, burgled it, and jewellery was reported stolen.

In all cases, the suspects are believed to have used the same Skoda Octavia vehicle.

Police Appeal for Information

Officers investigating the incidents, under Operation Pirate, are urging anyone with information to come forward.

“Any information, no matter how small, could be vital in helping us bring those responsible to justice,” police said.
