Sussex Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses following a violent assault in Brighton’s city centre that left a man injured and prompted a police investigation.

The incident took place on 12 November at around 11 am, on Marine Parade outside the A Room With A View hotel. Officers were called after a man working in the area was struck with a pole and then attacked by two men, suffering a range of injuries.

Police quickly responded to the scene, and two men — a 50-year-old and a 19-year-old — were arrested on suspicion of assault. Both have since been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.

With investigations ongoing, Sussex Police are now appealing to the public for any additional information that may help clarify what happened. Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have CCTV, dash-cam or mobile footage from the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward by reporting details online or by calling 101, quoting reference 652 of 12/11.

Community cooperation remains a crucial part of police efforts to understand violent incidents and hold offenders to account, as authorities continue working to ensure the safety of residents and visitors in the Brighton area.
