Two teenage boys are fighting for their lives after being seriously injured in a collision involving an electric bike and a car in Hove, Sussex. Sussex Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses, dashcam footage, or any other information that could help their investigation.
On Thursday 16 October, at approximately 3:10 pm, emergency services responded to a collision on Sackville Road, Hove, close to the junction with Blatchington Road. The victims were travelling together on an electric bicycle when they collided with a car.
One of the boys, aged 15, remains in critical condition in hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second, a 16-year-old, sustained a serious leg injury and is also being treated in hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured, and Sussex Police have not indicated any arrests to date.
As inquiries continue, the force is appealing to the public for any assistance. Officers are particularly keen to obtain dashcam, CCTV, or phone footage showing the collision or the moments leading up to it. Anyone who was nearby at the time, whether on foot, in vehicles, or passing by, may have seen something crucial. Any detail, no matter how small, could help reconstruct what happened.
Those with information are asked to contact Sussex Police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting Operation Charlton.
