A woman has been remanded in custody following a robbery in Brighton’s St James’s Street last month.

The incident happened on the evening of October 27, when a man in his 30s was using a cashpoint on St James’s Street. He was reportedly approached and assaulted by a woman, who then knocked him to the ground and stole his bank card before fleeing the scene.

Police say the stolen card was later used fraudulently on three separate occasions following the robbery.

Following enquiries, Aji Sinera, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested on October 30 in connection with the incident.

That same evening, she was charged with robbery and three counts of fraud by false representation.

Sinera appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on October 31, where she was remanded into custody.

She is due to appear for her next hearing at Lewes Crown Court on November 28.
