Hastings Coastguard team, joined by counterparts from Bexhill and Rye Bay, along with the Coastguard Rescue helicopter, responded to a distressed vessel that had run aground, sustaining damage and taking on water.
Pett Level Rescue Boat also was tasked by the coastguard successfully evacuating the casualties and initiating a tow of the vessel.
Unfortunately, the vessel capsized due to the excessive water intake.
Thankfully, with the timely aid of a passing vessel, the casualty vessel was righted, and both the casualties and the vessel were safely brought back to Rock-o-Nore beach.
Once the casualty vessel was securely ashore, we were relieved of duty and returned to our station.
