Two people and four dogs were rescued from a cliff in the Fairlight area by the HM Coastguard on Friday, 7 April. The group had become stranded on the cliff after being cut off by the tide and decided to climb up to safety. Unfortunately, they became stuck and called for assistance from the Coastguard.

The Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bexhill, Hastings, and Rye, along with the Duty Coastal Officer, quickly responded to the scene. After a successful rope rescue, everyone was recovered to safety.

Senior Coastal Operations Officer, Mike Kerley, praised the professionalism and teamwork of the Coastguard Rescue Teams. He also thanked the local community for their support, providing teas and coffees to the rescue teams to ensure they stayed hydrated during the challenging incident.

The outcome of the rescue was fortunate, and it serves as a reminder of the importance of taking care when exploring the coastline and being aware of the dangers of the tide
