Last night (16/01/2023) a car traveling on the A26 driving to conditions hit black ice and left the carriageway overturning.
Emergency services attended and closed the road between Newhaven and Beddingham for recovery to take place.
Both passengers in the car escaped with no injuries.
The driver of the car told Sussex news “No grit lorries no warning it was hard to even stand up. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic and me and my passenger were shaken up but not injured. It could have been a lot worse. Would like to say Thank you to everyone that stopped and the Rescue Services for their prompt response”
