Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the A27 near Lewes in the early hours of Saturday, 13 September.
Emergency services were called at around 3.30am to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on the westbound carriageway near the Esso Garage.
Tragically, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, and an investigation is now underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
The A27 was initially closed in both directions between Falmer and the Southerham Roundabout. The eastbound carriageway has since reopened, while work continues to reopen the westbound side.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
