Sussex Police have launched an appeal to identify a man following the theft of luggage from London Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal.
The incident happened on Thursday, 30 October 2025, between 3pm and 6pm, outside the toilets in Zone A of the busy terminal. Officers say the stolen suitcase contained personal items of sentimental value which cannot be replaced.
CCTV images released by police show a man they wish to speak to in connection with the theft. He was seen wearing a bucket hat, an orange coat over a black hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.

After the incident, the suspect reportedly left the terminal via the Southern Walkway, heading towards the Forecourt, Ring Road, and Balcombe Road (B2036).
A police spokesperson said:
“We’re keen to identify the man pictured as part of our ongoing enquiries. We urge anyone who recognises him, or who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area at the time, to come forward.”
The theft occurred in one of the UK’s busiest transport hubs, and officers are working with Gatwick Airport security to trace the suspect’s movements.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police online or via 101, quoting serial 1520 of 30/10.
