A fundraising campaign has been launched following the tragic death of 16-year-old Josh Ingram, who was fatally stabbed at Seaford railway station on Wednesday evening (10 September).
Josh was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics. Officers from British Transport Police (BTP), Sussex Police, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the station just after 5pm following reports of a stabbing.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the incident. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court today. He cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age.
Detectives from BTP’s Major Crime Unit have launched a murder investigation and are continuing their enquiries. The station remained closed for several hours while officers carried out forensic searches.
BTP Detective Chief Inspector Paul Stanley previously said:
“This is a shocking incident which has resulted in the tragic loss of a young man this evening. The investigation remains in the early stages.
I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or the lead up to it, to get in touch as you may have vital information which could help our investigation.”
Community Grieves and Seeks Justice
Friends and family have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral costs and raise awareness about knife crime. The page reads:
“As most of you would’ve known Josh, you would have seen how he was the sweetest boy who wouldn’t hurt a soul. He always made everyone laugh no matter if he was moody.
Unfortunately, on September 10th a cruel evil person took him away from this world… We’re making this GoFundMe to raise money to give Josh the best send off possible and to hopefully get some justice from this unbelievable, shocking and honestly traumatising incident…
We may not be able to bring Josh back but the least we can do is support each other and educate people on knife crime!
Life isn’t cruel, the people are. We love you J xxxx.”
