A distressing event unfolded this Thursday morning as a woman in her 50s fell from a cliff near Brighton Marina, leading to a significant emergency response. The East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, Sussex Police, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were all called to the A259 at Roedean around 8 a.m.

Despite the rapid response, the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident caused a temporary closure of the road, impacting local traffic.
A spokesperson for Sussex police told Sussex news “Emergency services were called to the cliffs at Brighton Marina today (February 22) at around 8am to concerns for the welfare of a woman. A woman in her 50s fell from the cliff and has sadly been confirmed deceased.
Her next of kin has been informed and the death has been passed to the coroner.”
