A car smashed into The Pilot Inn pub in Dungeness, near the power station, shortly after midnight last night, causing significant damage to the well-known venue.
Kent Police say the driver allegedly fled the scene but was arrested a short time later. Details on any potential injuries have not yet been confirmed.
Despite the extensive damage, the historic pub — famous for its fish and chips — reopened to customers today. Staff worked quickly to make the premises safe, ensuring the much-loved local could continue serving visitors.
Footage taken at the scene shows debris scattered around the entrance following the collision.
Kent Police have not yet released the identity of the arrested driver, and inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
