Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal were evacuated following the activation of a fire alarm. The incident caused a brief period of concern and disruption at one of the UK’s busiest airports.
A spokesperson for Gatwick Airport said “There was a fire alarm activation in the North terminal departure lounge, this has been investigated by our Fire Service team & they’ve confirmed that there was no fire. Passenger Safety and Security are our top priority.”
The North Terminal was reopened shortly after the investigation was completed and normal operations resumed.
