FIRST CALLOUT OF THE DAY

CALLOUT – 24/2022

Team paged with the Fire Rescue Service and Shoreham Coastguard Rescue Team, to assist them with two casualties stuck in the mud in Shoreham, on the River Adur.

Stood down en route with all casualties safely out of the mud.

If you get stuck in mud, spread your weight evenly across the surface, and stop others from trying to help you, as they might get stuck too.

If you get stuck in mud along the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

 

SECOND CALLOUT OF THE DAY

CALLOUT – 25/2022

Team paged to possible ordnance at Medmerry Beach.

Items located and photos taken and sent to E.O.D (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team).

E.O.D. arrived on scene and a controlled explosion was carried out.

Ordnance comes in all different shapes and sizes and ordnance found on this beach in the past has been found to still be highly explosive.

If you come across anything suspicious or unusual on the beach, please don’t touch it and call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Returning to station at 17:15.

THIRD CALLOUT OF THE DAY

CALLOUT – 26/2022

Team paged to reports of a casualty in the water at Bognor.

Littlehampton Coastguard Rescue Team, Sussex Police, Littlehampton Lifeboat, Ambulance Service, and Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 175 were all on scene.

Casualty rescued and brought ashore by Littlehampton Lifeboat and transferred into the hands of Coastguard Teams and the ambulance service. No medical assistance was needed.

Returning to station at 21:00
