Emergency services were called on Saturday at 7:10pm to Kings Road Brighton just west of the Palace Pier to a person that had been rescued from the water.
An area was cleared whilst emergency services carried out CPR.
The man who was 37 years of age was rushed to Hospital but later died.
His next of Kin have been informed and Police have said there are no suspicious circumstances around the incident.
